Bob Baker asked:

I recently found evidence of a deceased relative’s investment in specific stocks. Looking through the vast amounts of papers, it didn’t appear that any of them were sold. I am the heir of the estate. I have absolutely no idea who to contact about this. The relative has been deceased for a year. If the stock’s still exist, I am the rightful owner, but need to transfer ownership. Any help on this would be great. Thanks.

The difference between equity trading and mutual funds is that mutual funds trade once a day and equities can be traded at any time during the day. Learn how equity traded funds, or closed-end mutual funds, trade in the same way as equities with information from an investment manager in this…

I want to invest in a fairly safe mutual fund to invest in while the market is headed down.

I figure it’s a good time to invest in the next 6-12 months.

I can see DOW going as low as 8,500.

What would be a “safe” growth mutual funds to invest in while the markets are going down?

Can you give me a few good ones?

I prefer big companies like Vanguard.

What does the ex-dividend date mean?

How can you trade stocks so you buy it in time to obtain the dividend, but make money and sell it too? Or are dividend stocks better to hold and get income? What are some good stocks to buy?

I want to buy some stocks on a budget ($300) but I don’t want to join a brokerage or anything. I want to purchase stocks and just keep them. Any information as to how and where would be greatly appreciated.

When stock values go down like they did today (800 points at one point of time), where does the value of the stock really go? Sure, people who own the stock lose money because of de-valued stocks, but where does the worth of the stock really go? Does it just disapear? How can consumer confidence, which is just an intangible feeling, affect value of stocks like that?
