One of the greatest types of beds that is available for dogs is constructed of wrought iron. No matter what the price, an iron bed is a good choice, because it is well-built and durable, and your dog isn’t going to be able to damage it no matter how boisterous he can be. Maybe you’ve looked at the cute little wicker dog beds that are on the market. Have you given any thought to what doggie teeth and claws can do to fragile wicker? If you have a dog that likes to chew on things, a wicker bed isn’t hardly going to last until you get it home. By going ahead and purchasing a high-quality bed initially, you’ll find that you won’t have to buy a replacement bed every couple of years. In fact, the first wrought iron dog bed you buy may well last him throughout his entire lifetime.

Wrought iron is a very durable material, especially if you take care of it. When purchasing a wrought iron dog bed, you want to make sure that you buy a size that will grow up with your dog. If the bed you buy is too small, it won’t be long until your puppy will outgrow it which will necessitate purchasing another. How big is the dog you’ve chosen to adopt going to grow? If you aren’t sure, ask your vet, and then make sure to buy a bed that will still accommodate your dog when he’s full grown.

You must make sure your dog’s food has plenty of protein in it. Protein and kidney failure in dogs is fairly common. For a puppy it is recommended that there is at least 28% protein in their food. For an adult dog, it is 18% and for a pregnant or nursing dog the number goes back up to 28%. It is possible for your dog to get to much protein. Usually this will not do them any harm and the extra protein will come out in their urine. However if you have a dog that has kidney problems, too much protein could be a problem for them and might possibly cause kidney failure.
